I've always loved the crazy contact lenses that people wear for Halloween to make them look like vampires or space aliens. Now there's an even more extreme version out - specifically for Japanese girls and boys who want to look like anime/manga characters.
Yes, they're extra wide contact lenses. According to the sales copy, "Wanna get big, watery, shiny eyes without any surgery? CRAVE AND ENVY NO MORE!"
Wait - were people actually getting surgery? Eek.
Anyway, they cost $30-50 and are available in prescription strength as well as cosmetic. I may just have to try them this Halloween!

I bet they would look so strange in real life. Halloween is a good idea--I couldn't do it 'cause of the glasses (which make my eyes look small, so these would just bring them back to normal-looking).
