Liz on Geraldo

Geraldo did a segment on the growing popularity of erotic romance last night and my friend and fellow author Liz Maverick was interviewed! You can watch the streaming video here:

I wish I could write erotica. It's so (pardon the pun) "hot" right now! But I just don't have it in me. :) More power to those who can though. Looks like there's a lot of potential in this growing subgenre.

Happy Friday everyone!!

Very cool clip! It must be the time for romance fiction to be getting attention because our local chapter author, Jane Porter (author of numerous category romances and two Chick Lits) was featured on one of our local evening news shows on t.v. last night. Pretty cool to see our industry finally getting the credit it deserves, and surprisingly without the snarky angle one might expect, given the age-old stereotype still surrounding the genre.

I don't have it in me either, so you're not alone. I'm not even interested in reading it, truth be told.

I did see the Geraldo piece though. Thought it was interesting that they treated erotica like it was something new. And not a mention of the epubs who've been putting this stuff out for years.

I think I'd like it better if it weren't sandwiched in between Peeping Tom, Violent Son, and Incurable Illness features, lol.
Erotica has been 'out there' for ages (thinking of Anais Nin here) but not the romance story - married to the hot, explicite sex. That's pretty new...And when you add vampires, ghosts, werewolves, and other paranormals you do get a whole new genre.
And it's really a lot of fun to write. :-)
